Back of the Queue -Is there something you’ve always wanted to do, but never got around to starting (an activity, a hobby, or anything else, really)? Tell us about it — and tell us about what’s keeping you from doing it.
Yes, there is something I always wanted to do. I have one big dream left, I would like to open a restaurant, but a different kind of restaurant…
I my mind it would look big log cabin, very inviting with a big wraparound porch. We would only be open for Lunch and the menu offers famous soups and stews from all over the world:
Minestrone from Italy, Goulash soup from Germany, Cock-a-Leekie from Scotland, of course the famous Bortsch and Solyanka from Russia, the cold Gazpacho from Spain and many more; served with a wide variety of international breads and rolls, and maybe 2-3 desserts.
By now you wonder “what is different about this restaurant”?
Well, there wouldn’t be any prices on the menu. The restaurant is called “Me and You” and we would accept donations only. Minimum donation for Lunch $4 the rest is up to the guest.
At 3 pm we close and would prepare the meals and soups for the Evening.
Free soup for the homeless and hungry – maybe a free haircut and a free shave in a different room.
Why I haven’t done it? Well, it’s the lotteries fault, so far they haven’t picked my numbers.
If you ever see a “Me and You” restaurant in your city…then you know I won the Happy Quitter won 🙂
