Didn’t we just recently have a prompt like that? And, what is wrong with my new friend that we can’t communicate?
I got to know so many people here, many of them because of the daily prompt and we have friendships growing through comments. Communication is the key and opens almost every door. How many wars could have been prevented, if the right people would have sat down and talked? How many relationships would be still intact or would have ended with less hurt, if people would have talked and listened?
So, if my new friend doesn’t want to talk or write, then I don’t see us being friends in the near future. I am rambler, love words and word plays. I love to laugh and nothing brings more joy to my heart, than spending time with friends and people I love.
A playlist describing me is not possible, it would be too confusing. A friend sent me the following poem a while back. I read it and emailed back “but I don’t have horses”. She answered promptly “No, but you have dogs and you are pretty good in the embarrassment department.” Friends know you well and they don’t know you through songs.
So I guess it means I pass on today’s daily
rerun prompt once again. I think I make my own prompts from now on..yeah, I like that idea. Challenges to get to know each other better. I would love that a whole lot.
When I Am An Old Horsewoman
I shall wear turquoise and diamonds,
And a straw hat that doesn’t suit me
And I shall spend my social security on
white wine and carrots,
And sit in my alleyway of my barn
And listen to my horses breathe.
I will sneak out in the middle of a summer night
And ride the old bay gelding,
Across the moonstruck meadow
If my old bones will allow
And when people come to call, I will smile and nod
As I walk past the gardens to the barn
and show instead the flowers growing
inside stalls fresh-lined with straw.
I will shovel and sweat and wear hay in my hair
as if it were a jewel
And I will be an embarrassment to ALL
Who will not yet have found the peace in being free
to have a horse as a best friend
A friend who waits at midnight hour
With muzzle and nicker and patient eyes
For the kind of woman I will be
When I am old.

You make a new friend. Make them a mix tape (or playlist, for the younger folks) that tells them who you are through song.
