Dear Procrastination,
It’s not that I don’t like you, I actually do. You have been with me all my life and I got used to you, you were always around.
We did last minute homework in the bathroom before school and we pulled all-night shifts when I got older. I always loved our little Deadline game, when we circled around my project for days until we finally found the perfect “last minute,” to start on it. There is no denying, you have kept me on my toes and you have kept me in shape.
However, I got older and because of our very ventures, I am sad to say that we can no longer procrastinate together. I dont get enough done when you are around, and you keep me from doing things I really want to do now. Like for example right now. I am sitting here on my desk writing a silly, little post instead of being in my workroom, where I am suppose to be.
I don’t think you can change or shape up. We had this talk numerous times before and nothing every changed. So lets face it, it’s time to part.
So, would kindly pack your things and go, that would be greatly appreciated and while you are at it, take your cousin Time-is-flying-by with you.
Well, if you have anything to say or want to say Goodbye later, you know where to find me…please call and make an appointment and be on time.
Sincerely (and exhausted) Yours,
Shape Up or Ship Out
Write a letter to the personality trait you like least, convincing it to shape up or ship out. Be as threatening, theatrical, or thoroughly charming as is necessary to get the job done.
Believe me,sometimes, problems get solved by themselves , so why ” do today what you can do tomorrow”?
I’ve been told the exact contrary during all my life …….notwithstanding this has become my motto…

So funny. I turn to housework – and I HATE housework! So I guess in that respect procrastination is good for getting rid of the dust bunnies and cobwebs 😀

You turn to housework? I had to laugh, because I do the same. Pretty much anything and everything just so I don’t have to do what I should do. 🙂

I once wrote a four page essay (due in an hour) on procrastination. The assignment was to write about something we were familiar with. Ha! I am the queen of procrastination! I got a high grade on the paper, even though I admitted to writing it just before class. ^_^

Intersting enough, I am on my best under pressure. Always have been, always will be. My best projects are the ones I did last minute or in the middle of the night. Just don’t tell anybody 🙂

I don’t often procrastinate, but when I do..I really do a great job of it! Great post. I like how you mentioned the cousin…”time is flying by” ….I feel like I see it everyday!

Actually procrastination is dead. It was quite easy. That magic word retirement was said and I decided, procrastination no longer exists. If I don’t do it today then tomorrow, or perhaps the day after. I no longer do what I have to do, but what I want to do. Anyhow my life is now guided by my computer, my iPad and my iPhone, so who needs procrastination, it is all organised with peeps and buzzes and strange noises (I have about 50-100 to choose from) on my various electronic devices. Yes Computer killed the procrastination star (that could be a title for a song?)
