Share your World – 2016 Week #39

A class you wish you would have taken?

I wish I would have taken the art class in school. I admire people with a talent for drawing and painting, and I would love to be able to express myself through art. I tried – I suck. Maybe the class would have made a difference?

What’s your favorite comic figure and why?

It is – and always has been – Asterix and Obelix. It is a French comic series about a small village of Gauls, who resist the Roman occupation; they do so by using a magic potion brewed by their druid, which temporarily gives the recipient superhuman strength.

I never understood why it’s not well known here. It has been translated into over 100 languages and dialects, including Latin and English. I myself started reading it in Latin; it was given to us by a teacher who tried to motivate us. She succeeded, we fell in love.(I should write a post about my comic heroes).

Name something you wish you could like.

I wish I could like snakes. As much as I like animals; I just can’t. I see one, and I freak out, regardless how harmless or small it might be. I think that’s the only thing that can make me scream like a little girl and run really fast.

Tell me about your first crush / first date / first kiss.

My first crush was Uwe, a neighbors boy. He is the one who taught me to steal cookies the right way, and he taught me to fight like a boy. I was 6, and he was almost 12 -double my age. I found it very shocking and I started calculating the rest of our lives. I would be 10, and he would be 20; I would be 20, and he would be 40 and so on.  I lost interest. I wasn’t a genius in mathematic back then.

As for the first date, I really can’t remember (I suppose he didn’t leave an impression). The first kiss happened in the dark in the basement, when we were playing hide and seek, not really sure who he was -but had an idea.

Who was your best friend when you were 10?

Mausi (little Mouse), she was my best friend in boarding school, all the way from first grade to 12th grade. We were thick as thieves and as different as two people can be. We stayed in contact for the longest time, but it became difficult when I moved overseas.

What sign are you? Do you believe in astrology?

I am a Scorpio, and I don’t believe in astrology, but I find it very entertaining.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up? 

Just cooler weather and open windows, that’s all I am longing for right now. As for last week, it was a normal week, rather boring…glad it’s over.

Cee, thank you for posting the kids questions. They have been bugging me all summer long. They are going to be so happy and so proud of themselves. Every summer neighbor kids spent time with  me in my workshop and this year they discovered my blog.
