Often she brings home a pizza from the little Italian café at the corner.
She turns on the music, listens to Dean Martin and opens a bottle of wine.
Her little piece of heaven, she likes to call it, and her eyes sparkle when she takes the first bite.
The Italian “La Dolce Vita” is in her blood.
In her mind, she dances in the fountain, just like in the movie.
Life should be enjoyed and lived to the fullest.
Luxury and Pleasure!
For some it’s money. For her, it’s a slice of pizza and a glass of Vino Rosso.

I enjoyed writing this, and I just changed our dinner menu. We are having pizza tonight. The Friday Fictioneers are held by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields. The 100-word challenge is a beautiful exercise to make every word count. It’s not always easy for a blabbermouth like me, but somehow I get it done.
I was under the weather last week, didn’t comment as much as I normally do. I will make up for it this week.
I can really relate to this post as a huge fan of all things Italian. Thanks for sharing! I love a good glass of Primitivo! I have a poetry blog here on WordPress and today’s poem is about a Primitivo in case you have time to have a look? Have a good day, Sam 🙂

How did your pizza go down? Hope you enjoyed it 🙂 Dean Martin, vino rosso & authentic Italian pizza – sounds like a perfect combination! 🍕

I like your heroine! That’s exactly how I felt as I was eating my pizza, drinking my wine in Montepulciano (oh, in the dark as there was a power outage!!)

The simple pleasures in life are usually the best 🙂 Can’t argue with a slice of great pizza (or 2 or 3) and a glass of wine (or 2 or 3)!!

I hope that its not the Trevi Fountain she is dancing in, or removing the coins from!.

Removing the coins is the city’s job or the kids do it -whoever is faster. And of course it’s the Fontana di Trevi. Where else 🙂

Dear Bridget,
Sounds like a cozy evening for her. I predict that by the end of this prompt we’ll all be sending out for pizza. 😉 Well done.
