I watch this program pretty often and have done for quite a number of years. My enjoyment and appreciation of Mika’s role on the program has gone steadily downhill to the point that on several occasions I asked myself and how and why she continued to act as co-host? On those occasions, as she has done for many years, she sort of acted as the mother to an unruly bunch of boys, trying to get them to take their turns and not talk over each other, to try to act like grown-ups with some degree of civility. As time went on I noted that most of the panel would eventually act as requested, with the one glaring exception of the named host, Joe Scarborough. I heard him insult her to a much greater degree than Trump’s recent tweets, not on appearance but on her intellectual capacity! And since I found out they are now engaged, I wonder what she sees in him and doubt that the marriage will last very long if it ever happens.
I think Joe sees Mika as a step up on the political and social rung, based on their divergent backgrounds, so I can understand why he would want her. I purchased her memoir for $1 at one of those clearance stores and from reading it determined that Mika seems to think she is better than many of her colleagues, male or female, and has selfishly worked to prove it, to the detriment of her family and possibly other relationships. Clearly this is a trait she shares with the Donald, which is probably why they got along so well for such a long time until recently.
Joe and Mika are not the only or even the first political commentators to openly and publicly question the mental health of 45, though they do seem to be the least appreciative of the built-in checks and balances of our government and their ability to, best case, minimize the damage he is doing to our country and his fellow citizens. I have not found much of their commentary to be constructive at all, and think it has degenerated to the level of Trump on many occasions.
I will close by saying that, again after reading Mika’s book, I have a great deal of admiration for her parents and agree that she has a thick skin and so is probably not very much affected by Trump’s comments, or maybe even those of her fiancé.
It is so terrifying to me that 45 is in charge of the free world. Just when I think it he reached the pinnacle of obscenity he outdoes himself. The local NJ TV station interviewed people to see what they thought- one man said the President of the US should have more integrity- but a woman (age I would estimate in her 60’s) said she doesn’t mind it at all, she likes what he says. I turned off the TV and just sat thinking in a state of disbelief that someone could be so ignorant and blind, and yes, stupid. God help us all
I say this in all sincerity and not meaning to be funny – he is a narcissist. That term gets thrown around loosely, but it’s a real personality disorder and has dangerous implications when its symptoms are the driving force behind the words and actions of a world leader. He cannot tolerate criticism. He can never be wrong and therefore is never to blame. He has to be the best at everything and therefore can’t accept advice. He will viciously attack anyone who threatens his self-image as if life depends on it. Everything he says and does is a reflection of his rigid narcissist disorder. This is not going to get better and it can get a whole lot worse.
His supports still support him, no matter what he says, no matter who he offends. They find it cool and find him entertaining. I wonder how those people raise their kids; I wonder how they live and how they have been raised. Poverty is no excuse for ignorance.

Trump hasn’t changed, the Presidency hasn’t changed him. He acts like a bad reality TV star and his supporters are cheering.
