Well, just in case you haven’t noticed, I am back. Almost four weeks without blogging did wonders for me. I missed the writing as much as missed reading other blogs. I missed the communication with my online friends.
When something exciting happens in my life I want to share it first with my husband, then I often tell the dogs -mainly because nobody else is around at that moment- and then I want to share all of life’s little joyful moments or swear-situations with my blogging friends.
Taking a blogging break now and then is actually very refreshing. It puts things back into perspective and it gave me time to regroup. While I always seem to know who I am as a person, I started to wonder who I was as a blogger.
Now I know, I am all over the place and always will be. I don’t care about statistics and numbers, I don’t care about the number of likes and followers. I have a busy life and cannot blog every day anymore. Something has to give, and that’s the virtual world. I will continue to be unpredictable on the list of my subjects as well as in the number of posts.
Funny enough, right after I announced that I would either take a blogging break or perhaps would quit blogging for good, I got an email from http://www.healthline.com. They have a “Best Health Blog Contest” for 2017 and believe it or not, I got nominated.
Healthline has nominated The happy Quitter! in our Most Loved Blogs Contest of 2017!Your site provides support and inspiration to future ex-smokers who want to embrace a healthier lifestyle once and for all. That’s why we’ve selected you to participate and help spread the love to an even wider audience.Previously in our “Best Health Blogs Contest”, we give readers a chance to vote for their favorite blogs of the year. The 1st place winner receives a $1000 cash prize. For all the details, check out: https://www.healthline.com/health/best-health-blogs-contestWe will provide a customized link you can share with your audience so they can vote for you directly. Voting begins on November 20th, so be sure to let your followers know!
I am still a quit-smoking blog, and even when I am not writing anything new about the subject, smokers stop by every day and read the posts I wrote during the first year of my quit. That’s my biggest reward.
No worries, I will not ask you to vote for me, I never vote for anybody who ask me to. 🙂
To be honest, I find it rewarding enough to be nominated. Little things like that give me joy and make me smile even brighter. So, please let me say THANK YOU.
Well, congratulations and welcome back! I love serendipitous happenings 🙂

Welcome back! I too plan on taking a hiatus, although I fear my blog might suffer if I take as long as you did. So, maybe a week or two? I hope I should have discovered the true purpose of my blog.
I love your posts BTW ☺

I had to take a break, too…but because of a stroke. I’ve been in hospital for 12 days, now , I’m feeling much better now, and can move both my left arm and leg.
Think I’ll go back home in a week or so…
I ‘m missing my co-bloggers posts as well as my own blogging…
I’m not commenting on posts , except once in a while………………
Big hugs and welcome back!

I am so sorry to hear about your health issues, but also glad to know that you are doing so much better. I can only imagine what kind of shock that must be.
Please, take care of you and don’t overdo it. Listen to the doctors and allow the people around you to spoil you.
Mi raccomando, guarisci presto!

I’m glad you’re back, and that I’m not the only one who wonders sometimes about who I am as a blogger. In the end, it’s all about the people who choose to read us and call us *friend* that really matter … just like in the ‘real’ world 💕

PS I’ve voted for you. Not sure how I managed it as it was the most awful, tortuous process I’ve come across in ages. They really need to make it easier!

Welcome back. As for categorisation, I was an avid fan of The (London) Times columnist Bernard Levin. What I liked best was that he wrote about something different every time

Great post, I feel the same about blogging. I have met a few wonderful people through my blog and I am so grateful for that. I decided to take the pressure off and just let my blog be there for me. When I need to write or have something to share or a few minutes of time, and not be worried about daily writing or numbers or stats or anything like that, and I find that helps me the most! All the best to you! And Congrats on being nominated!
