Dear WordPress

Here we go again! Without having a choice, you force me now to accept unwillingly the new Gutenberg WordPress editor and while I try to be as open-minded as I possibly can be, I find myself not liking it right from the start – just because of the way you stuffed it rudely down my throat.

I love change, but what I don’t like is changing something that worked fine into something that doesn’t do the previous version justice.

Why fix it, if it aint broken?

I know, I know! The editors and new hires have to be kept busy, investors need the illusion you all are working hard. The paying audience is the target and a small blogger like me is quickly thrown under the bus -as usual.

I will get used to the changes, but sadly it comes with a price. My excitement about blogging diminishes more and more and WordPress, the host of my blog is doing it to me.

If you want to get me to the point that I give you money and pay for my blog, then perhaps you should make me drool with excitement and anticipation, and not leave me with a sour aftertaste in my mouth whenever I check on my blog.

Giving people a choice is all it takes to make customers happy. Haven’t you learned a thing?

Being in the creating field myself, I can tell you that you don’t throw something at the customers that has more bugs than a heap of manure. A beta version is simply just that, a test version. Never should it become the norm, or replace something that was well liked by a broad audience.

First thing I noticed, Grammarly is not working with the new editor, even though they are suppose to work together. When I asked your experts for advice, they just nodded. “Yep, we know, we hope they will fix it. We don’t like it either.”

Super!

The new editor is not more convenient to use, it’s rather the opposite. While I have now more screen space -which makes me think it got developed so that people can easily blog from their mobile phones- now I have to search for the right drop down menu.

Perhaps blackening the screen so we all are in the dark, might be something you wanna give a try?

Would I recommend WordPress to a friend. No, not anymore -not at all!
