How can we judge something most of us are fortunate enough to never have to live through?
Poverty is real and right around the corner for many of us. I know, because I have lived it and I think now might be the perfect time to finally write about it.
How does it feel to have not much?
How does it feel to be scared to be on the streets?
Many will lose everything during the COVID-19 pandemic and the laws and regulations put in place to temporary help, will ultimately not safe them. Evictions will happen, so will foreclosures.
Too many have lost their jobs, too many have no savings to dip into.
Once we had it all. Big house, big car, savings account, credit cards and then from one day to the next all was gone.
Listen to the woman. Her fight is real. Her words need to be heard by all, because poverty doesn’t care about a side, gender, sexual orientation or color of the skin.
