I’d dare to make more mistakes next time.
I’d relax. I would limber up.
I would be sillier than I have been on this trip.
I would take fewer things seriously.
I would take more chances.
I would take more trips.
I would climb more mountains and swim more rivers.
I would eat more ice cream and less beans.
I would perhaps have more actual troubles but I’d
have fewer imaginary ones.
You see, I’m one of those people who live sensibly
and sanely hour after hour, day after day.
Oh, I’ve had my moments and if I had it to do over
again, I’d have more of them. In fact,
I’d try to have nothing else. Just moments.
One after another, instead of living so many
years ahead of each day.
I’ve been one of those people who never go anywhere
without a thermometer, a hot water bottle, a raincoat
and a parachute.
If I had my life to live over, I would start barefoot
earlier in the spring and stay that way later in the fall.
If I had it to do again, I would travel lighter next time.
I would go to more dances.
I would ride more merry-go-rounds.
I would pick more daisies.
Why wait… Start now!
(But the ice cream has to be dairy free)
Fantastic! Inspiring words, for sure. It helps to remember that it’s never too late to embrace a change in direction!

Thank you for this reminder, especially about having fewer imaginary problems. Gotta let those go and enjoy life! Maybe I can go back and get a little of the free spirit I left back in the 70s.

Oh, what a lovely life that would be. If only we could have a few do-overs…

It is said that successful people fail more and fail faster than average people. I’m wondering what their idea of failure is. Those people that play all their lives seem to have the most fun and the most sprained ankles and skinned knees!

It’s only a failure if you stop trying, if you continue, then it’s just a ‘set back’ a pebble on the road to success. 🙂

We could all learn from this one just to let go, worry less about the things out of our control and treat our lives a bit lighter. Happy Thursday. Allan

I liked the poem but it did make me wonder why one would wait to enjoy life and then I realized perhaps someone wrote it for me, a reminder to worry less, live more, laugh more often and enjoy life to the fullest.
