Cleaning fairy #3 was a Russian lady, who came from a country which belonged to Russia in the past and now they don’t speak Russian anymore -turned out she didn’t speak much English either. Needless to say, we had some communication problems. She knocked on my door and introduced herself as HOUSECLEANING, what made me feel like a guest in a luxury hotel. “You show me chemicals,” she demanded, and the way she talked to me scared me a bit.

I finally realized the cleaning fairy will never stop by our home and I am left with all there is to do. I am getting older, the house is not getting smaller, and it seems I am constantly running behind. I feel like I spend all of my precious free time cleaning and scrubbing the house, and I am tired of it.

“Do you want me to bring anything?” I asked my friend before I stepped outside. I was on my way to her house, expected her to tell me to bring a nice bottle of something red.

“Yes,” she said, “Bring your tools.”

I wasn’t born to clean. I was born to live, laugh and create. That at least was the plan, and then I got married to a man with a selective vision. It’s fascinating how it works, one minute he sees just fine, the next he can’t see dirt or dust.
