Yesterday I asked my husband if I am getting more cynical with age, or if I just got wiser and it has gotten harder to impress me. His simple answer: “Yes!” It took a moment to sink in. “You mean both?” He chuckled and nodded. Prince Charming might be on to something, as always.

It’s Raining Inside

I am not in the best of moods, to be honest, I am upset, grumpy, and sad, a bit confused as well. I don’t like to feel that way, it’s not how I normally am. I still laugh and I joke around, but it’s half-heartedly at the moment and that’s alright.

Arriving in Yourself

I often had the feeling that I didn’t fit into this world. The feeling that the people I was surrounded by were somehow different from me, that they had completely different lifestyles, values, or views than I did, and that I did not SEE myself in any of them.

Would You Be There?

Imagine somewhere out of space and time, a room full of all the people you loved in your lifetime. Childhood friends and lovers, family, partners and spouses. Perhaps some would be surprised to find themselves in your room, because you never told them how you felt.

In this room full of people you love, would you be there too?

Why I hate Mother’s Day or married without children!

“Happy Mother’s Day,” he said, looked at me and gave me the receipt. He meant well, so do all the others, wishing me the same thing over and over since years. Now I just smile politely, a smile that doesn’t reach my eyes and everybody who knows me, would notice. The strangers in the stores they don’t know me, they don’t notice. How could they? It’s their job to be polite to customers. They mean no harm. The younger ones, who don’t have children, think about their own mothers. The older ones, who have children smile, think about their own kids. It’s natural…so it seems.

Accept and don’t forget~!

Nope, I didn’t forget and I like it. I find the whole “Forgive and Forget thing” absolutely nonsense. I am not a computer, I can’t just press “delete” and voila, the memory is gone. It’s like being on a jury when you listen to a testimony, then the prosecution objects and you are asked to forget what you just heard. Really?
