At first I smiled when I read the joke, but my smile quickly turned into sadness. How can such a harmless joke bear so much truth?
I can’t help but smile when I think about all the Holiday geese who found their way into our kitchen. Roasted goose with potato dumplings and homemade red cabbage. Cleaning fairy #3 was a Russian lady, who came from a country which belonged to Russia in the past and now they don’t speak Russian anymore -turned out she didn’t speak much English either. Needless to say, we had some communication problems. She knocked on my door and introduced herself as HOUSECLEANING, what made me feel like a guest in a luxury hotel. “You show me chemicals,” she demanded, and the way she talked to me scared me a bit. “She is white, he is black,” that’s how an older woman described our new neighbors to me and her face showed disapproval. We are a mostly white neighborhood and a mixed racial couple disturbs a lot of the older people here. They are nice to them, don’t cause any harm; the hurt is done behind their back in the way people talk about them – especially her. Continue reading
Yesterday at AGT (America got Talent) the female judge Mel B. got up and threw water at Simon Cowell. That wasn’t a first; she and Heidi Klum have done it before.
