A young couple moves into a new neighborhood. The first morning, while they are eating breakfast, the young woman sees the neighbor hang up the wash outside.
“That laundry is not very clean,” she said, “she doesn’t know how to wash correctly. Perhaps she needs another laundry soap.”
The husband looked on, but remained silent.
Every time her neighbor would hang out the wash, the young woman would make the same comment.
About one month later, the woman was surprised to see nice clean wash on the line and said to her husband,
“Look! She has learned how to wash correctly. I wonder who taught her this?”
Her husband said, “I got up early this morning and washed the windows.”
So….are your windows clean or dirty? What do you see while watching others fighting addictions? What do you see while watching others around you?
I do have to admit that I have had some dirty windows in my lifetime, but with age the dirt disappeared more and more and now I keep my windows clean.
Wonderful story and wonderful lesson! love this!

Oh, you ARE clever ! You just keep finding them, and they continue to be wonderful, these little stories … I shall be desolate if ever you stop discovering ’em … 🙂

I don’t find them, I grew up with them, told by the woman you raised me when my parents were not capable of doing so….my Grandmother. The little bit of wisdom I might have by now comes from her, actually I turn into a version of her, outside and inside. It is a fascinating transition 🙂

Great story. I have had distorted views of the world myself.
